Misery 4:3 - The Smouldering Bull

From over the jagged peaks and treacherous valleys of Bergen Chrypt, the cvltists from the Unknown Continent bring FIRE and SMOKE and CHARRED FLESH. They say their BRONZE GOD can forestall the apocalypse, but at what cost? Who would gamble their neighbors and family away on a chance at survival in the Dying Lands?

Except that it worked. You saw the cvltists shovel in the castellan and his whole household, you heard their screams and bacon-sizzle in the BLACKENED BELLY. And you felt saw the sun finally rise (dimly,  but undeniable), or heard the flies and wasps drop dead in the fields, or saw SHE turned about in the dead-choked foothills and returned to HER lair.
